generation whY
exploring the voices of craft makers 35 & younger
July 16 – September 24, 2011
Through collective events and experiences a generation can be defined. What will this generation have to say and what, if any, commonalties will these craft makers share? The ACC published a call for craft makers born in this generation to share their distinctive voice through fine craft. The response exceeded expectations as intriguing submissions from all over Alberta and beyond were received. A gelling of themes began to emerge, including technology, social issues, the environment and even anatomy - all creating a cohesive glimpse into the elements distinct to today, that inspire the generation known as generation Y.
