Brenda Danbrook (Opal, Alberta)
As an artist and craftsman of ceramics, I am using digital photography and Photoshop in my everyday practice. I am utilizing this technology in innovate ways with image development to be able to use digital photography and merge it with the visual art technique of silk screen printmaking with slip, and the
handcrafted stoneware vessel.
Instagram ScreenshotThrough the use of digital images and the computer technology of Photoshop I am able to capture a glimpse of Alberta’s past through silk screened images, in attempts to commemorate that collective memory of the relationships we all share between people and their surroundings, and the enduring physical records of human activities, in hope that the artwork inspires a desire to learn more about our province’s heritage and that a greater awareness of our past that will instill a deeper respect for it.
