Event: Fibre Potpourri, Western Canada Conference - Red Deer, AB

Conference Dates: June 2-4, 2017
Location: Red Deer College, 100 College Boulevard, Red Deer, AB

Hosted by the Calgary Guild of Needle & Fibre Arts. This year our Western Canada conference will include 1 and 2 day classes in a variety of styles.  We will not be limiting ourselves to only traditional needlecraft styles but expanding to include all forms of fibre arts.  The event also includes a retreat option where you can just come and work on your own projects in the company of both new and old friends.

The Sculptors' Association of Alberta presents: True North, celebrating Canada 150. All works will be displayed among the foliage and regular admittance fees for the Muttart Conservatory are applicable in order to view the exhibition. Artists include ACC members Ellie Shuster, Fran Cuyler, Keith Turnbull, and Ritchie Velthuis.

Event: Village Market at Vintage Day/Kalyna Voice, Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village - Edmonton, AB

Step on the gas, drive back in time and enjoy a spectacular display of vintage vehicles at the Ukrainian Village. This family fun day includes Kalyna Voice singing competition, children’s activities, free horse-drawn wagon rides, exhibits, entertainers, historic activities, traditional Ukrainian food and a Village Market.

Event: Stony Plain Art Walk - Stony Plain, AB

Date: July 1, 2017
Time: 10am - 3pm
Location:  5100 - 41 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB. Along the walking path near the Heritage Park Pavilion.

The Stony Plain Art Walk is the 4th annual outdoor art show and sale held during the Stony Plain Canada Day Celebrations. The art walk will feature local artists of all ages. This is a family friendly event.

Event: Series Summer Arts School, RDC - Red Deer, AB

Immerse yourself in your art and meet others that love it as much as you do. Series Summer Arts School will fulfill all of your art needs!
 
We offer five-day workshops on Monday to Friday for adults of all skill levels, from professional artists to those looking for personal growth. Included in your course fees are instructor presentations by professional artists, open studios in the evenings, open model sessions and a variety of social activities planned to enhance your experience at Series. Get the most out of your experience by staying right on RDC’s beautiful campus.

Event: Village Market at Ukrainian Day, Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village - Edmonton, AB

Date: August 13, 2017

Witness history come alive as Alberta’s Ukrainian community celebrates its pioneer roots as well as all things Ukrainian in the province today. An afternoon concert featuring the best in Ukrainian dance and music takes place at this annual event co-hosted with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council. Other family fun includes a visit to the historical village, children’s activities, village market and the Ukrainian Village Food Festival. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for seating.

Event: Village Market at Harvest of the Past, Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, Edmonton, AB

Date: September 10, 2017

Celebrate Alberta’s agricultural roots with a traditional harvest at the Ukrainian Village. See the Village one last time and witness an old-fashioned threshing bee complete with vintage farm equipment and grain deliveries to the historic elevator. Other historical activities include flower and herb drying, feather stripping, making kapusta (sour cabbage), grinding wheat, quilting, and canning of produce from the museum’s gardens.
