The Marketing and Communication Assistant will work with a dedicated Alberta Craft Council team to help develop and deliver events, programs and services that will benefit our diverse membership, promote craft arts through special celebrations including the opening of a second Alberta Craft Gallery location (Calgary) and Canada’s 150 Anniversary.  

We’re seeking someone with good organizational skills, experience working with the public, strong computer skills and marketing - communication experience/education with a focus on social media, promotions and special events.

Education Required: University or College.
This position requires the successful candidate to be returning to school in the fall and to be between 15 - 30 years of age.

About the Alberta Craft Council

In 2017, the Alberta Craft Council will produce 21 exhibitions in 5 locations, market the work of approximately 150 members, provide advisory committee and other member services, coordinate extensive communications activity, and promote contemporary craft arts widely.  Opening in June 2017, the Alberta Craft Gallery – Calgary will be in the newly renovated cSPACE King Edward Arts Hub located in the vibrant, arts-friendly, inner-city neighborhood of South Calgary near Marda Loop.

The Alberta Craft Council is the Provincial Arts Service Organization that develops, promotes and advocates for fine craft in Alberta. The ACC has a dual role: to support contemporary and heritage crafts as significant art forms that contribute to Alberta’s culture; and to develop a craft sector of creative, skilled, viable and sustainable craftspeople, studio, businesses and networks. The Alberta Craft Council is the organization of first choice for professional craft artists and aficionados in Alberta.
