Leah Gravells Wins at Paducah Quilt Week

Leah Gravell's fibre art piece Summer Solstice (200 - 3/4” strips, 43" x 52") has won 3rd Place in the Small Wall Quilt - Pictorial Category at the American Quilter’s Society, Quiltweek, Paducah. The show was held 2017 April 26-29 in Paducah, Kentucky.

Kenton Jeske on CBC Radio 1

Kenton Jeske was interviewed by Mark Connolly on Edmonton AM, CBC Radio 1 on April 13, 2017. He spoke about the furniture he created for his current Discovery exhibition Ceremony. The Artist Reception for Ceremony is this Saturday, April 22 from 2-4pm.

The artist reception for Simpler Slower Silver by Soma Mo also takes place on Saturday from 2-4pm.

Leah Gravells Receives Award

Leah Gravell's fibre art piece Summer Solstice was juried into three American Quilter’s Association Spring Shows in: Daytona Beach, FL, Lancaster, PA and Paducah, KY. Summer Solstice has won 1st place in the Wall Quilts- Landscape category at the Lancaster Show.

Canola Fields by Leah will be in the Grand National Quilt Show at the Joseph Schneider Haus Museum, Kitchener, Ontario. The show runs from May 7 - September 3, 2017.

Rae Hunter Receives SAGE Award

Rae Hunter is the Recipient of the 2017 SAGE Award for Arts & Culture. The SAGE Senior Association of Greater Edmonton holds the annual awards to honour outstanding achievements and contributions of seniors in the community.  The 11th Annual SAGE Awards will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. 

As a teacher and artist in basketry, fibre arts and weaving, Rae shares her interest in this challenging and environmentally friendly part of life and history.
