Anna Burger-Martindale

Calgary-based Jeweller and Silversmith, Anna Burger-Martindale, creates functional silverware and jewellery. She uses traditional textile patterns and geometric and nature-inspired designs. Her work explores themes of memory, history, culture, and the boundary between functionality and non-functionality. Anna received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Alberta College Art + Design in 2014 and a post-graduate diploma in Silversmithing at Bishopsland Educational Trust in Dunsden, England in 2015.  

Anna is a promising emerging artist. She interned in Dawson City, Yukon and Shetland, Scotland; and already exhibited in Canada, the United States, the UK, and Austria.  Anna was the recipient of the Alberta Craft Early Achievement award of 2016. She currently works out of her studio in Calgary, Alberta.
