Dave Dunkley (Saskatoon, SK) has had a reverence for wood for all of his life: the process of finding the material, then exploring the inherent qualities to express natures designs.
"I enjoy exploring the process of shaping the object. Turning wood for me is an opportunity to push myself at the same time, By taking that last cut that may risk ruining the piece but may make the piece more refined if successful. Lately, I have been playing with colour and texture.. Although, my primary focus is the shape of the vessel, I find that each piece is also a reflection of my intrinsic perspective at that time of making it".
