Thanks for Making 'Twas the Night 2016 a Success!

The ACC toasted the season with its 19th ‘Twas the Night fundraiser on Friday evening, November 25, 2016. Thanks to everyone who joined us for a festive and successful evening. Dead String Swing with 'Trombone Audrey' entertained with a blend of gypsy jazz, old blues and original songs. Guests were treated to delicious food by Bridges Catering, Nonie Lee and Wendy Arrowsmith. There were also door prizes, split ticket draws and chance discounts in the shop.

Thank you to the following members who donated items for the split ticket draws: Mindy Andrews, Valerie Baber, Margie Davidson, Lisa Head-Harbidge, Loretta Kyle, JoAnna Lange, James Lavoie, Dana Roman, Todd Safronovich, and Jenna Stanton.

Bridget chatted with ACC Gallery Shop artists Donna Brunner (hooked rug landscapes), Loretta Kyle (stone carvings), Susan McKay (glass mosaics) and Dan Miller (pottery).

ACC on Our Edmonton Program on CBC 

In advance of the ACC's annual fundraiser 'Twas the Night and busiest shopping season of the year, Adrienne Lamb toured the Alberta Craft Council for Our Edmonton on CBC Edmonton TV. The episode aired November 19, 20 and 21, 2016.

Adrienne spoke with Edmonton glass artist Keith Walker, Tom McFall, ACC Exectutive Director and Linda Frena, ACC Retail Gallery Manager.

The program was brimming with coverage of work at the ACC including Holly Boone (fibre), Lisa Head-Harbidge (glass), Matt Heide (concrete), Terry Hildebrand (ceramic), Charles Lewton-Brain (jewellery), Dan Miller (ceramic), Todd Safronvich (glass),  Mise en Scene participants Triniruth Bautista (ceramic) and Alysse Bowd (ceramic), also current Discovery exhibitions Distil by Jenna Stanton (ceramic) and Material Witness by Dirk van Wyk (fibre).
