Dry Island Buffalo Jump is a crack in the Alberta prairies just east of Red Deer. The Red Deer River cuts a gorge through the rich land.

I painted this in the spring when the river was still frozen and the bright green of the new growth was just beginning to peek though the brown blanket left after winter.
