The Canmore artsPeak Arts Festival is a weekend long festival celebrating the arts in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. artsPeak offers festival guests a wonderful and inspiring array of venues and activities to see and experience and most artsPeak venues and presentations will be free to the public!

artsPeak 2009 will continue to be a multi-venue, multi-disciplinary event with activities centered in the downtown core of Canmore but which will also include activities throughout the town site. The festival will once again feature local artists and their works, while at the same time providing an opportunity for audiences to embrace the work of visiting artists.

Confirmed events include the popular and established artWalk, artTour, artFair, which feature visual arts work from both local and visiting artists, artStreet, a street performers festival, artWatch, featuring the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Hanging Art, a unique art sale in support of local arts groups, artZone, Community Art Workshop an opportunity for a hands on introduction to the arts, artLens, Community Photography Contest and the annual CAAG artsPeak Members Exhibit.

New activities for 2009 include artHunt, an arts-based scavenger hunt, artWell, which combines health, wellness and art. Our artSong concerts will feature a Friday night performance with well-known singer/songwriter Cori Brewster, who will showcase her new - and fourth - album at artsPeak, followed Saturday night by openMic, which offers new and established musicians an opportunity and a venue to share their talents. artsPeak is also pleased to announce the festival has two new artSong partners, Communitea Cafe and Zona's Bistro. Communitea will host musical acts on Thursday and Sunday night, while Zona's has plan for Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances.

The Works International Visual Arts Society produces The Works Art & Design Festival which attracts artists and patrons from around the world, boosting the energy and imagination of Downtown Edmonton at the start of every summer. The Works is a free event that draws an audience representing all ages and interests, offering over 200 exciting exhibits and special events to the public.

There are many opportunities for artists and craftspeople to get involved from feature exhibitons to art market booths. Various deadlines starting in Januray 2009.
