Joan Irvin, Calgary

Joan Irvin calls herself an interdisciplinary artist. She is a (former) ceramist, a flamenco aficionado and a maker of narrative jewellery. She has studied at the University of Calgary, the Alberta College of Art and Design (where she also teaches), the Banff Centre, the Kalliolan Vapaaopisto in Finland and the Penland School of Crafts in the United States. Joan also works as a curator, lecturer and writer.
