John Chalke, Calgary and Sundre

John Chalke, in 2000, won a Governor General's Award, the most prestigious arts honour in Canada. In 2006, work similar to this piece, was purchased by the Canadian Museum of Civilization and Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. John's work is included in many other public collections, and has been featured in more than 270 exhibitions, 36 books and several films. John is best known for his thirty-year exploration of visually adventurous and technically exotic glazes.
