Liv Pedersen, Calgary

Liv Pedersen trained as a social worker in Denmark and as an artist (painter) in Canada. She chooses to work on a primitive plank loom, to develop narrative tapestries that speak to viewers on various levels. Her Nordic roots, her work with disabled children, her "love of yarn", all blend in sophisticated, yet elemental visual stories. For more than twenty years, her work has been collected and published in Canada, the United States and Europe.
