Julia Reimer has studied techniques of traditional blown glass in Canada, Spain, France and Hungary. Her work is influenced by crisp prairie light and undulating grasslands, and by modern, atomic, 60s era design. Julia is an active organizer for the Glass Art Association of Canada. |

Childhood memories … visiting my father … working on an oil well in the grasslands of south-eastern Alberta … equipment … emanated power and danger … I became aware of how nature revealed itself … resisting the permanent change and intrusion inflicted … the tension and beauty of rusted metal and solid sculpted glass … expresses human desires to control nature … the indomitable and patient force of nature to reclaim and heal itself …
