After completing a degree in Science, Brad Keys discovered clay at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. "If was everything I was looking for in a creative medium - mud, chemicals and fire." Returning to Alberta, he has established a reputation based on innovative use of regional imagery - landscape patterns, prairie and foothill colours, buffalo, trout, straw bales, grain elevators - in functional pottery and larger ceremonial/sculptural pieces such as this "prairie-size cookie jar".
