Brenda Philp

Available at the Alberta Craft Gallery - Edmonton

Brenda Philp (Edmonton, AB) is a fibre artist who creates unique and functional wearable art. Her passion for colour, composition and texture are influenced by a lifelong love of the arts and music. For Brenda, creating wearable art with natural materials is her way of connecting the past to the present.

Introduced to felting in 2009, Brenda remains fascinated by the endless possibilities of this colourful, tactile and expressive artistic medium. Brenda views every encounter as potential for experimentation and discovery. Wool is a renewable, natural fibre that can be manipulated in many ways to create contemporary wearable art pieces. Blending ancient techniques with a modern twist leads to the formation of some very practical and unique works of art.
