Fei Su

Fei Su is a jewellery artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. Inspired by Chinese culture, Art Nouveau and music, Fei works with wood, metal, and gems. She strives to communicate nuanced, sometimes dark narratives through spontaneous, simplistic, and childlike forms.

The content of Fei’s work is related to the polarized human experience. In one instance, one is full of hope and inspiration, and in another, one struggles with overwhelming emotions and memories. Though the ideas expressed are sometimes extreme, she ingrains subtlety and secrecy into her pieces so that viewers may interact with them and discover hidden narratives.

In 2015, Fei graduated from Alberta College of Art + Design with a BFA and the Board of Governor’s Award in Jewellery and Metals. In the same year, she was selected as a Finalist for the 2016 NICHE Student Awards, as well as for the 2015 Student Jewellery Competition by L. A. Pai Gallery in Ottawa, Canada.
