Call for Workshop Proposals
Application Deadline: Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:59 pm MT
Workshop Dates: Saturdays between May 16 - October 10, 2026
The Alberta Craft Council is excited to work with the Edmonton Downtown Business Association and Foundry Events to present weekly programming at the 104th Street Farmers Market from May 16th to October 10th, 2026.
We are seeking artists to lead engaging, hands-on, craft-focused workshops on one or more Saturdays throughout the market season. Programming is flexible and may include drop-in “make-and-take" activities or more structured workshops with advance registration.
This market season program is designed to connect the public with contemporary craft while raising awareness of the Alberta Craft Council, its artists, and programming. Workshops should be accessible, interactive, and suitable for a broad public audience. While we will be prioritizing family-friendly workshops, we welcome all proposals, as there may be additional programming opportunities that are a great fit for your idea.
We are planning to feature a new workshop each week throughout the season, but applicants may have the opportunity to do multiple workshops throughout the market season based on application volume, diversity in proposals, and strength of applications.
Please note that this is a juried process and not all applicants will be selected and all applicants will be notified of the decision one selections are complete.
Applicants may submit up to three workshop ideas using this form.
If you would like to discuss your idea or have any questions about the application process, or are unsure of the viability of your workshop idea, please contact jen@albertacraft.ab.ca or call 780-488-6611 ext. 234.
Instructor Compensation:
A one-time fee of $240, covering 4 hours of instruction and 2 hours of preparation.
Material costs will be covered up to $200. If your proposed workshop requires materials beyond this budget, we still encourage you to apply, as it may be well suited to other programming opportunities.
All required materials provided or purchased by the instructor will be reimbursed within the approved budget.
Alberta Craft has a team of volunteers who can assist with preparing materials ahead of your workshop. If you require additional preparation time, please contact us so we can discuss what might be possible.
