Open Call for Workshop Proposals - Calgary

Ongoing Opportunity

The Alberta Craft Council is inviting artists to submit workshop proposals for programming at the Alberta Craft Gallery + Shop Calgary.

We deliver monthly craft- focused workshops and talks that engage the public with craft practices and highlights the work of craft artists. This open and ongoing call is intended to support future programming by identifying artists and workshop ideas that can be scheduled as opportunities arise.

We welcome proposals for hands-on workshops and/or artist talks that are engaging, accessible, and suitable for a general audience. Our programming highlights craft practices in many forms, with a focus on material exploration, skill-sharing, and learning directly from practicing artists.

Please note that this is an ongoing call. You may not hear back immediately, as submissions will be kept on file and considered for future programming opportunities as they arise.

Applicants may submit up to three workshop ideas using this form.

If have any questions about the application process, or are unsure of the viability of your workshop idea, please contact jen@albertacraft.ab.ca or call 780-488-6611 ext. 234.

Instructor Compensation:

  • Instructors are typically offered a one-time fee of $240, which includes 4 hours of instruction and 2 hours of preparation time. If additional instructional or preparation time is required, please indicate this in the application form.

  • We reimburse instructors for any materials they provide or purchase for their workshop. Please include a list of required materials and a general estimate of costs in the application form so we can ensure proposals align with available program budgets.

How to prepare your application
