In Interior Motifs, Martina Lantin explores surface, form, and architectural references to engage with material history through craft-based materials and contemporary modes of display. 

Drawing from the Porcelain Rooms of 18th-century Europe, Lantin transforms the gallery through an architectural intervention of ceramic and textile elements. Historic porcelain patterns are reimagined through layered, glaze-fused lattices, tracing the accumulation and variation of patterns across time and geographies. In this shifting material record, Lantin considers ceramics as a chronicle of migration, transition, and adaptation, reflecting on contemporary experiences of immigration in Europe and North America. 

Together, these unconventional renderings of architectural details, display space, and ceramic ornament consider the sensation of displacement experienced through migration and settlement.
