Canadian Quilts and Their Makers:
Presented by Prof. Lisa Binkley of Dalhousie University
Professor Binkley will explore nineteenth-century Canadian quilts—from homespun and patchwork to appliqué and whole-cloth examples—to reveal what they tell us about the social, cultural, and economic lives of their makers and users. She will also examine how the period’s dramatic technological changes transformed quilting practices.
