Sara Young is a woodworker, fibre artist and illustrator from Cochrane, AB and a graduate from the Fibre program at the Alberta College of Art + Design (now AUArts). Her woodworking primarily focuses on textile tools, such as weaving shuttles, lucets, and tapestry looms. She enjoys creating satisfyingly tactile tools as each wood speaks differently to each individual. Sara chooses colourful and unique hardwoods as each hardwood species has their own personality, be it from cool and smooth, or warm and soft.
Our SPOTLIGHT exhibit highlights work by new Alberta Craft members and members producing experimental work.
